The first everybody post I've posted in a LONG time....
Batman, The Dark Knight, whatever you want to call it, was frigigging AWESOME!!
I mean... DAMN!
I thought it was better than the first one. My only problem is that with a movie that long I realy do think there needs to be an intermission. I know 2 and a half hours is not really THAT long, but at our theater with our seats, that was near unbearable. I would go into more details with the unbearableness that it almost was, but I've decided to sing the praises instead.
OH lordy, the amazing take Heath Ledger had on the Joker was... more than just a little impressive. I'm not saying this because of his death or anything close to that, I'm saying that because I'm not about to lie. I thought before that all the hype surrounding his death was overdrawn. Everyone referring to him as having such great potential and such. Not that I didn't somewhat agree, but still... kind of like they stopped calling Anna Nicole Smith a slut when she died even though all these guys were claiming to be her baby's father...
The hoopla surrounding Ledger's death was nothing compared to hers, but I simply thought of him as the guy from "Ten Things I Hate About You" and "A Knight's Tale." I saw "Brokback Mountain" and hated it. It had some good parts but the movie itself was not that good in my opinion. I do, however, absolutely ADORE "A Knight's Tale" but simply thought of Heath Ledger as one of those hearthrobs put into a movie so girls could look and say "Oooooo pretty." I'll admit that I've done that with more than one of his movies.
Then came Batman... I'm simply amazed by his talent. He was well on his way to being one of the best actors EVER and I'm sorry I ever felt otherwise.
